Kent Y. Mouton graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Dean’s List, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and received his law degree in 1978 from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Mr. Mouton specializes in real estate law, primarily in the areas of real estate lending and finance, joint ventures, land use, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development and construction, common interest subdivisions (condominiums and planned unit developments) and real estate brokerage. He has represented numerous insurance companies, lending institutions, developers, brokerage companies and investors in their real estate transactions.

Mr. Mouton is an active member of the bar associations of the State of California and Los Angeles County and participates in numerous real estate related committees sponsored by these bar associations. He has been an Adjunct Professor of real estate law at the UCLA Extension since 1979, and teaches the following UCLA Extension courses: “Real Estate Loan Originations and Workouts: Current Practices and Procedures,” “Bankruptcies and Workouts: A Case Study Approach,” “Real Estate Development in Southern California: Current Issues and Solutions” and “Advanced Real Estate Law.” He speaks frequently before real estate industry trade groups on a variety of real estate topics. Mr. Mouton has been honored by his peers by being designated a Southern California Real Estate "Super Lawyer" in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Mr. Mouton is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Century City Bar Association and formerly was a Co-Chairperson of the Century City Bar Association Real Estate Law Section. He also serves on the Los Angeles County Bar Real Property Section Real Estate Finance, Land Use Planning and Commercial Development Steering Committees.

Prior to joining Kulik, Gottesman, Mouton & Siegel, he was a partner in the firm of Katten Muchin Zavis & Weitzman and was previously associated with the firm of Cox, Castle & Nicholson. Mr. Mouton is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest proficiency rating afforded by that advisory service. Mr. Mouton is the founder of "Concerned Lawyers of California" - a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that provides monetary assistance to local community charities.
